How to use the pomodoro timer

  1. Keep the classic 25 / 5 / 15 or set your own focus, short break and long break lengths in minutes.
  2. Press Start. Focus periods start on a high chime, breaks on two lower ones.
  3. After the last pomodoro the long break runs, then the session is complete. Press Start for a new cycle.
  4. The tab title shows the time left, so you can keep working in another window.

How this timer works

What is the Pomodoro technique?

A way of working in fixed blocks: 25 minutes of undivided attention on one task, then a 5 minute break. After four such blocks you take a longer break of 15 to 30 minutes. The fixed length makes starting easier and the breaks keep the pace sustainable.

Do the breaks start on their own?

Yes. The focus period, the short breaks and the final long break run as one chained sequence. You press Start once at the beginning of the session.

Can I change the lengths?

Yes. Focus, short break, long break and the number of pomodoros before the long break are all editable, and the timer remembers your last setup on this device.

Does it keep going if I switch tabs or my screen locks?

The schedule is anchored to your device clock, so the timing stays exact however long the tab was in the background. Sound is the limit: beeps only play while the page is open in the browser, and a locked phone will usually silence them. For a workout you follow by ear, keep the page in the foreground.

Is it free, and do I need an account?

It is free with no account and no install. Everything runs in your browser, and your last settings are remembered on this device.
